ABOUT THE ARTIST
“My artistic endeavors encompass who and what I encounter daily. For me, art is everywhere. Any life experience can potentially become a work of art. My work represents my life journey. It is about me – what I have thought and experienced. Each life journey is connected to all life journeys.” P. Lear
Phyllis Lear was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in a rich Cajun culture of story telling and joie de vie. She attended several Louisiana universities, earning a BA in Art & Industrial Arts Education (ULL) and three graduate degrees – one in art history (LSU) and two in visual arts (Northwestern State of LA & Louisiana Tech).
